Qualifications

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking working knowledge

Experienced with business related computer tasks, specifically with Microsoft Office

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP software and WENNSOFT job cost accounting system

Knowledge of various other company related ERP systems

Must have 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience

Responsibilities

As a direct report of the Vice President of Finance the Senior Accountant will:

Support and assist the Assistant Controller with the activities of the Finance-Accounting and Payroll departments to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial data as well as the dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, monthly budget vs actual reporting budgets

Acquire knowledge and support initiatives related to the implementation of government contract accounting according to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) guidelines for company compliance

Provide support to finance and accounting department with regard to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) on government contract audits

Assist with providing information requested by the external Certified Public Accounting firm for annual financial statement independent audits and annual federal and state corporate tax returns

Directly manage or provide support for the completion of all internal and external audits and tax compliance

Provide support for the activities of the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments to ensure the accurate and timely management of all AR and AP aging components including billings, cash receipts application, as well as the weekly processing of the Company Payroll

Provide support and periodic reporting for the ongoing internal audits of various processes to ensure compliance with Company SOP

Routinely provide ad-hoc financial reporting to all Company departments in support of various projects and initiatives

Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports

Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, franchisees, and others in a courteous and professional manner

Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions

Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Skills and Abilities Required:

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred). Must have 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
