Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing various financial activities within the organization. This individual will be responsible for bank reconciliation, finalization of books, vendor management, MIS reporting, preparation of banking documents such as stock statements, managing TDS processes including deposits, depreciation calculations, and ensuring adherence to general accounting principles. Moreover, the Senior Accountant will be instrumental in audit handling and collaborating closely with auditors during the audit process.
Key Responsibilities
• Bank Reconciliation:
• Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements with internal records.
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all bank transactions.
• Books Finalization:
• Lead the process of finalizing financial statements at the end of each reporting period.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for accurate reporting.
• Vendor Management:
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Verify invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Address any discrepancies or issues related to vendor transactions.
• MIS Reporting:
• Generate periodic management reports summarizing financial performance and key metrics.
• Analyze trends and variances to provide insights for decision-making.
• Present reports to senior management as required.
• Banking Paper Preparation:
• Prepare various banking documents including stock statements, financial projections, and loan applications.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and requirements.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions as needed.
• TDS Knowledge and Compliance:
• Have a thorough understanding of TDS regulations and provisions.
• Calculate TDS accurately and ensure timely deposits.
• Prepare and file TDS returns within the stipulated deadlines.
• Depreciation Working:
• Calculate depreciation expenses for fixed assets using appropriate methods.
• Maintain schedules and records related to asset depreciation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• General Accounting Knowledge:
• Possess a strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Assist in the resolution of accounting issues and queries.
• Audit Handling:
• Coordinate and facilitate audits conducted by internal and external auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules, documents, and supporting materials.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
