Senior Accountant
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Staff Accountant will cover monthly close activities with a focus on accounting for outsourced vendor contracts for clinical areas. The individual will collaborate with the Accounting Manager and staff on a variety of projects and activities, including support of the annual audit and assisting with strategic and functional initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and post monthly general ledger journal entries, including accruals
• Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements
• Support audit and tax processes by collaborating with external auditors and tax accountants to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Assist with the implementation of business software tools, such as SAP/Concur and Insight software
• Collaborate with accounting staff and provide guidance as needed
• Maintain fixed asset module of ERP system and conduct physical inventory of fixed assets
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance of generally accepted accounting principles, policies and industry regulations
• Experience using NetSuite
• Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires a BS degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharma/biotech finance roles and/or public accounting; CPA is preferred
• Experience using an accounting ERP system, such as NetSuite
• Strong Microsoft application skills, especially as it relates to EXCEL
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve

• Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
