Kova and BCD were acquired by LGC Clinical Diagnostics in 2023 and specialises in the field of Clinical Urinalysis and Toxicology Controls.

Job Description

Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of general ledger journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

Responsible for accounts receivable collection and developing project plan to reduce AR turnover, collections and DSO for each business unit.

Responsible for accurate and 5 business day month-end close.

Accountable for preparation of month-end financial reports and issuing to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all financial data in accounting system.

Reports, analyzes, and interprets financial, sales and operating data for management.

Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.

Analyses and reconciles balance sheet accounts for each reporting entity.

Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determines appropriate corrective action, and supports day-to-day operations.

Analyze and monitor monthly financial results against budget.

Prepares cash management and cash forecasts for management.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures and Accounting Standards, while also making recommendations for improvement.

Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve financial performance.

Prepares monthly and quarterly reporting and analyses for leadership.

Assists with the preparation of annual budgets.

Manage and prepare various standard and ad hoc reports for the management group.

Enhances policy development by offering concrete advice regarding accounting and internal control issues, reporting needs, and policy review and changes.

Reviews the accounts payable function by reviewing invoices and checks prior to Controller.

Performs ICP reporting and quarterly VAT returns.

Ensures calendar deadlines related to company business are met (i.e. taxes, licenses, permits, AP payments, AR collections, and payroll).

Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, conformance to policies and procedures.

Participates in the execution of annual external audits.

Assists with related special projects as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent.

5 years of accounting management experience in a manufacturing or similar type environment.

Hands on experience with intercompany reconciliations and consolidating journal entries.

Hands on experience with ERP systems required.

Able to effectively balance resources, meet commitments and demonstrate initiative.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

Advanced Excel modeling skills and experience writing reports in financial systems.

Strong team building and influencing skills to effectively work with Management Team.

Demonstrated proficiency in motivating team.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Ability to work with all levels of management.

Acute attention to detail.

Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

Strong accounting skills.

Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Preferred Qualifications:

QAD system or MFG/Pro Environment preferred.

Additional Information

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: $90,000 USD

Maximum: $110,000 USD

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California-based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as experience, skills, and location.
