Job Description: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the construction industry, and will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain detailed supporting documentation.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Coordinate and assist with the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• Proficient in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
