Senior Accountant
Since 1+45, A.J. Braun has custom-fabricated and supplied quality highway products and provided installation services for projects across Canada, from roads to bridges and railway systems across the country. Job Summary
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the success of our business including the administration of accounting systems such as general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and monthly financial statements.
Job Requirements
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
Responsible for accounts receivable ledger and accounts payable ledger entries/collections.
Responsible for inputting general journal entries.
Prepare and examine financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Collect and Remit HST returns and keeps up to date with current tax legislation.
Assess internal procedures and recommend improvements as needed.
Maintain employee personnel records.
Prepare and maintain labor report entry as required.
Collect and analyze information for bank reconciliation.
Other Job Duties
Perform receptionist duties as required.
Prepare order entries, shipping and receiving documents.
Assist with year end and other areas of finance as required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education n accounting, finance, or related field of study.
Minimum 1+ years of related job experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quickly.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Outlook.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
