Full job description
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial activities of all accounts for the Hammer F&B LLC, a subsidiary of the Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Cultural Center. Hammer F&B LLC holds 3 ******* licenses, 2 of which are held in locations on the UCLA campus and 1 on the premises of UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. Primary responsibilities include F&B account reconciliations, financial reporting, and management of ******* revenue business, including ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC’s) policies and procedures, as well as all Hammer’s finance and accounting policies. Incumbent actively engages and manages relationships with our UCLA partners and vendors to ensure smooth day to day operations to minimize disruptions.
Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
Prior experience managing ******* sales and thorough working knowledge of state and local liquor laws (Preferred)
Thorough working knowledge of general accounting principles and systems, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices) standards, and auditing procedures (Required)
Strong analytical skills to anticipate potential problems or sensitive situations, recognize relevant factors and present viable alternatives or solutions (Required)
Thorough knowledge in using standard business software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite), accounting and finance systems (QuickBooks Online, Oracle NetSuite) (Required)
Skilled in verbal communication and in writing grammatically correct business English, such as reports, memos, and other routine correspondence (Required)
Working knowledge of internal cash handling and controls (Required)
Experience maintaining a high productivity standard within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions, changing priorities, changes in workload, and competing requirements. Ability to complete a large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines (Required)
Detailed knowledge of analyzing and refining information and presenting it in a summary manner to management (Required)
Proven ability to operate independently and exercise good judgment (Required)
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen, social perceptiveness, and the ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner (Required)
Ability to plan, budget and control costs (Required)
Skill in typing and operating a 10-key adding machine by touch and with speed and accuracy (Required)
Ability to work in an environment handling sensitive and confidential material (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Preferred)

Travel to Lake Arrowhead Lodge on at least a monthly basis. (Required)
