Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will oversee comprehensive financial operations within a film production environment, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of accounting and compliance tasks with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
• Administer financial records including payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis of revenue and expenditure variances.
• Manage comprehensive month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handle banking transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
• Conduct reconciliations for accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and capital assets.
• Prepare and file tax documents, manage TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and GST (Goods and Services Tax) reconciliations, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
• Produce detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders and ensure timely corporate compliance filings.
• Coordinate closely with the production team to monitor budgets and manage financial logistics during film productions.
• Oversee vendor and supplier relationships, including negotiations and processing of financial documentation.
• Manage petty cash, insurance policies, and office administrative tasks, ensuring all contractual and policy renewals are handled on time.
Requirements Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Commerce.
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in the entertainment industry.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software such as Tally and Zoho, as well as Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
