Responsibilities

Administer and be responsible for all accounting functions within the credit union

Maintain a thorough knowledge of accounting control/procedures in relation to GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles)

Must be continually alert for improving efficiencies in the Finance department and communication/deliverables to other departments

Complete a variety of month end close processes - including but not limited to general ledger account analysis and adjusting journal entries, depreciation and amortization, dual control validation, and department close meeting presentation

Manage fixed asset program monthly, as well as bi-annual credit union-wide audit

Produce a variety of monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Senior Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other Committees/Departments under direction of VP Controller

Prepare financial performance analysis narrative in conjunction with periodic financial reports

Prepare quarterly regulatory documentation and submission, adhering to updates as they occur

Prepare year end audited financial statements

Prepare annual tax returns – inclusive of data compilation, UBIT calculations, and overall review

Provide segregation function by reviewing reconciliation for areas of operation within the credit union

Reconcile general ledgers assigned by VP Controller

Review general ledgers for accuracy of charges to accounts based on department and budget categorization

Assist the day-to-day functions of the Finance department, as assigned by the VP Can be assigned as primary responsibility for duties in addition to serving as backup during an employee absence

Analyze complex financial reports and records

Perform research and analysis of financial activity and trends

Manage financial aspect for all department and corporate projects

Abide by credit union policies and department procedures, updating any that are assigned by the VP Controller

Assist with organizational & product cost detail development

Assist with preparation of annual budget – including specific budget assignments, point of contact for other departmental budgeters, and research/analysis support

Participate in department and corporate projects as needed

Attend CECL Committee meetings and prepare meeting minutes

Provide backup to VP Controller, GL Accountant, and Accountant I as needed

Provide cross-training and mentorship to other Finance team members

About The Role

RESPONSIBILITIES: Period End

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or combination of education and equivalent experience

• Five (5) years of progressive accounting experience; preferred emphasis in financial industry.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

• High degree of organization in both personal workload and in overseeing work performed by staff.

• Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.

• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

COMPENSATION

• $78,000.00 - $88,000.00/ year
