Part-Time CPA or CPA Candidate – Specializing in Construction/Contractor Industry

VOS CPAS is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to join our dynamic team!

At VOS CPAS, we love what we do. Our practice focuses on privately held businesses, professional services, and high-net-worth individuals. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage all facets of bookkeeping, tax consulting, financial statement presentation, and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare Federal and State tax returns for individuals and various entity types.

Conduct tax research, planning, and transactional work.

Provide monthly bookkeeping services for select clients.

Identify and resolve tax issues; advise small business clients on payroll, sales tax, and compliance matters.

Assist with financial statement audits and reviews.

Promote firm services to current and prospective clients.

Participate in tax planning, client interactions, and special tax projects.

Supervise and support staff in tax preparation and planning.

Collaborate with senior staff on tax preparation and review.

Mentor and manage junior staff, fostering a positive work environment.

Build and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a trusted advisor.

Contribute to business development efforts by earning client trust and referrals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA license or candidate preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in public accounting.

Experience working with small businesses.

Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP and IRS regulations.

Proficient in preparing financial statements and business/personal tax returns.

Experience with Thomson Reuters UltraTax and CS Practice (or equivalent) is a plus.

Skilled in MS Office 365, QuickBooks, and Excel.

Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Position Details

Part-Time: 20–30 hours/week (flexible scheduling available)

Paid Time Off

Full Benefits available if converted to full-time

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $37.00 - $46.00 per hour
