Job Description
The Senior Accounts Executive will oversee and manage the showroom’s financial transactions, ensuring accurate and efficient accounting records. This role will be key in managing the financial health of the showroom, assisting in budgeting, and providing timely financial reporting to the management. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting within a retail or showroom environment, specifically in the furniture and décor industry.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, vendor payments, and customer receipts.
Oversee the processing of sales transactions, tracking customer payments, and monitoring accounts receivable. Ensure all purchase invoices and payments to suppliers are processed on time.
Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, petty cash, and cash drawer balances to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections, specifically for the showroom’s operations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST/VAT, sales tax, and other relevant taxes. Prepare tax filings and reports.
Assist in preparing for external and internal audits, ensuring all documentation and records are readily available.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure adherence to accounting principles, processes, and deadlines.
Continuously suggest improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including automation of accounting tasks.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA) is preferred.
4-6 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role in a retail or showroom environment.
Must have prior experience in leading a team of 3 to 5 members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to guide and motivate a team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
