Hours of Work/Shifts: All Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights, & Weekends); 8 hour shifts

Site: Credit Valley Hospital (Must be able to work at all three sites as assigned. The Hospital retains the right to change assigned work location to any other THP site either permanently or temporarily based on operational needs. As part of our commitment to flexibility and growth, you may be required to cross-train in at least one other modality to support operational needs across THP)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Answer telephone

Facilitate inpatient appointments

Assist Resource Technologist with coordinating patient flow

Enter portering information into Connexal

Strong knowledge of medical terminology

Experience with Meditech and PACS

Enter inpatient exams in RIS

Coordinate patient consent and prep information

Ability to coordinate patient flow

Communicate preparation information to inpatient floors

Paging of MRP’s for Radiologist

Scanning paperwork

Gather pertinent patient information, eg. Previous, lab results, etc., for biopsy and inpatient procedures

Assist in changing of patients for examination

Booking ultrasound biopsies, notifying patient and physician’s office

Ordering forms from Print Shop

Order on-site supplies through materials management system

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

High accuracy and attention to detail when performing a wide variety of tasks

Excellent patient service skills, delivering positive patient centered care

Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

Completion of clerical / senior clerk training program or equivalent education and experience in a health care environment.

Health related undergraduate degree an asset

Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging an asset

MRI safety screening experience preferred

High accuracy typing skills combined with proficient computer software skills including Meditech, MSM bookings, Microsoft word & Excel and SCM

Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team in a high stress environment

Proven ability to multitask and able to adapt readily to changes in workload demands.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and in writing

Critical thinking and exceptional problem solving skills when dealing with patients, physicians, hospital staff and external stakeholders.

Excellent organization and time management skills ensuring compliance with diagnostic imaging policy and procedures.

High degree of professionalism and competency to function in a position requiring initiative and the ability to prioritize duties of the position with limited to no supervision.

Patient care focused to deliver the highest quality of care to patients and families.

Excellent attendance records required.
