The Ethnic Communities Violence Prevention (ECVP) programme sits within E Tu Whanau and focuses on preventing family violence and ****** violence (FVSV) within ethnically diverse communities in Aotearoa.The initiative aims to mobilise communities, test and trial prevention initiatives and gather data and insights on FVSV prevention in ethnically diverse communities.We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to support the delivery of the final phase of the ECVP work programme.The role will involve a range of tasks focused on relationship management with key stakeholders and funded partners.It will also include carrying out quality assurance for a range of groundbreaking research projects related to preventing FVSV within Aotearoa's ethnically diverse communities.The work programme is focused on building the evidence base for preventing violence in a historically underserved community within Aotearoa.The work is fast-paced, dynamic and varied, which also includes collaboration on social media campaigns, resource distribution and monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL).We are looking for a broad set of skills within this role.Key functions include: Providing high quality analysis, advice, and reports for key internal and external stakeholdersBuilding strong community relationships throughout AotearoaWorking collaboratively with community partners and the teamWriting programme reports and updates for a range of audiencesEngaging in, and delivering on the MERL component of the programmeProviding intellectual subject matter expertise and leadership in the delivery of initiatives within community contextsAdvising senior management and providing high-level support.To be successful in the role, you will: Have excellent writing skills, with experience in writing reports for Ministers and content for community engagementHave excellent analytical skills, particularly in relation to research and evaluationBe passionate about supporting the prevention of FVSV within ethnically diverse communitiesHave experience and / or knowledge of FVSV and violence against women and girls related issues within ethnically diverse communitiesHave specific knowledge of issues facing ethnically diverse communities within AotearoaHave a demonstrated ability of prioritising teamwork and working collaborativelyHave a growth-mindsetHave the ability to work under pressure on multiple workstreams within limited timeframesHave experience in communications and engagementBe able to deliver and work to deadlines.Team members will also need to build relationships with the NGO sector, key government stakeholders and internal ministry staff.It is important that you can communicate effectively to a range of audiences and work collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes, both internally and externally.The role will be based in Wellington, but flexible for the right candidate.Some ad-hoc travel will be required to support community and partner engagement.
