Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience working in national politics, government, think tanks, non-profit, or corporate public policy.
• Experience working with policies in the technology sector and policy issues/challenges impacting the internet.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience establishing digital solutions, economic development solutions and/or commercial partnerships with government, other industries, NGO’s, etc.
• Experience working with high-tech regulators, standards bodies, policy-makers, and regulated industries in India and Asia-Pacific.
• Experience with digital transformation and digital services in India and the wider Asia Pacific region; from a commercial, technical, and regulatory perspective.
• Deep knowledge of Google products, services, and solutions and ability to harness Google innovations to meet the needs of external partners in the area of digital transformation and services.About the job

As a Senior Advisor, you’ll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction.
Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for identifying, establishing, and realizing trusted relationship with the right national and sub-national government key opinion formers, agencies, and external stakeholders in the area of digital transformation and government digital services delivery in order to identify priorities where Google can partner, support or collaborate to help deliver Government digital transformation and services or improve effectiveness and build new/realize commercially viable business opportunities.
• Position Google as a contributor and problem solver to the regional national and sub-national government and other related entities in the areas of digital services and digital transformation, and explore extension of ideas to nearby regions.
• Lead efforts to architect what a strategic relationship with Google would look like inclusive of potential product solutions.
• Leverage broad internal ecosystem to influence and ensure success of business opportunities.
