Your Opportunity

Following a recent strategy and operating model review, our focus is on building the structure, skills and capabilities required for the next chapter of the IGO story. Our Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs team are seeking applications for a newly created Senior Advisor, Government Relations and Stakeholder Engagement position. Within this role you will be responsible for developing and supporting strategic engagement and advocacy with all levels of Government and industry associations, as well as the opportunity to make a difference through driving IGO’s community partnership and corporate giving program.


Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations your key accountabilities include:

Provide strategic government relations and advocacy advice and monitor relevant changes to government policies and their impacts;
Facilitate and lead IGO’s engagement with key industry associations (i.e. AMEC, CME, MCA etc.);
Develop and manage the framework for our corporate giving program and effectively manage the relationships with our community partners;
Seek to understand value and impact from our partnerships and monitor for effectiveness.

About Your Experience

Along with an influential communication style and pro-active attitude, you must be a team player and bring the following skills:

Significant experience working in Government Relations, Corporate Affairs or a related field;
Strong understanding of the political landscape around Australia and capability to quickly understand complex issues and their impact;
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and corporate partners;
Experience working with an ASX listed company in the mining / resources sector is desirable but not essential;
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Government Relations, Public/Corporate Affairs, Journalism or similar; and
National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
