We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Advisor, Policy and Professional Development to join the Accounting and Financial Services Team at the Department of Treasury and Finance.
Remuneration: ASO7 – Salary Range ($108,10+ - $116,864 p.a.).

The Accounting and Financial Services Branch provides an advisory function to public authorities on accounting, financial management, reporting and taxation. It also leads the development and oversight of instructions under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1+87, whole of government banking, DTF graduate program, departmental finance and procurement, whole of government budget system and provides support to the Lotteries Commissioner.
About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Principal Advisor, Policy and Professional Development, this role is responsible for managing projects relating to financial management policy that applies to SA Government and supports the management of professional development programs related to financial management for delivery to the department and more broadly across SA Government.
About you
To be successful you will have:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, commerce, law or other relevant field.
Strong written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills which result in effective and appropriate communication complex concepts to a broad range of people.
Demonstrated ability to take a policy or project from inception to practical completion through all required approval stages.
Demonstrated experience in providing practical advice on complex financial management concepts.
Demonstrated capacity to manage projects or project teams, manage a high volume of diverse tasks, support a work environment that shares information and expertise to facilitate a dynamic learning and performance environment, and mentor staff within the Department.
