About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

This is a full-time permanent role based in Wellington

We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Operational Policy Practice team. You’ll focus on designing practical, people-centred operational policy products that improves services and outcomes for tamariki, mokopuna and whānau. You’ll work in a matrix team to shape how we do things – helping turn big ideas into real, lasting system change. Your work will focus on improving equity and strengthening outcomes in education. Salary range: $84,425 - $102,271 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

You’ll bring critical thinking, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to improving outcomes. You’ll have experience in operational policy and be comfortable working across initiatives that use a range of design methodologies. You’re open to learning and confident at picking up new skills, tools, and ways of working as needed. You’ll also offer:

strong experience in operational policy, including designing advice that supports delivery and implementation

confidence working with diverse stakeholders and applying inclusive, user-centred design approaches

The ability to analyse complex issues and turn ideas into clear, practical designs and solutions.

The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

The Operational Design and Development function brings together expertise in operational policy, design, and business process management. We work through a matrix structure, connecting across teams and disciplines. Our focus is improving experience, effectiveness, and efficiency of education services. We do this to support equitable and excellent outcomes for tamariki and mokopuna.
