Responsibilities
The Senior Data Governance Domain Steward’s primary responsibilities include the oversight of RCG’s organization's data assets to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, consistent, and protected
This position is also responsible for implementing and maintaining data governance policies, ensuring data quality, and facilitating proper data remediation and data usage across the organization
Key aspects include ensuring data is treated as a valuable asset, managed responsibly, and used to its fullest potential while minimizing risks associated with data management
Focus will include stewardship support for Product and Revenue data domains
Data Governance
Establish standard and enforce policies and procedures for data management, including data classification and usage
Ensure data governance practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements
Establish and maintain data domain standards
Set clear practices for collecting and documenting data providing a comprehensive guide on Data Stewardship processes and best practices
Data Lifecycle Management
Ensure data is appropriately documented and maintained
Collaborate with enterprise data users to identify, document, refine and validate requirements with business data stewards
Define and execute processes for how data quality will be remediated with data stewardship, improving communication and understanding of the data and business needs
Metadata Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date metadata, including information about the origin, structure, and usage to help with understanding the context and lineage of the data
Partner with business data stewards to assist with defining business terms and populating the enterprise business glossary
Manage metadata through the data catalog template and enterprise data catalog tool
Define how documentation, including metadata, critical data elements (CDEs), and business terms, will be managed and adapted to various situations
Data Quality Management
Ensure data is accurate, complete, timely, and reliable
Set data quality standards and continuously monitor and improve data quality
Perform data profiling and quality checks to determine if data quality meets documented governance standards
Create data quality validation rules, data quality dimensions, and data flows artifacts in preparation for technical teams to initiative their tasks
Generate routine reporting on data quality assessments for issue prioritization
Troubleshoot the source of data quality issues and establish remediation best practices
Collaboration & Communication
Act as a bridge between departments and data users to ensure that data is used effectively and consistently across the organization
Acquire alignment and final sign-off of stewardship artifacts before handing off to technical teams
Establish cross-department communication through governance committees regarding data stewardship and data quality activities
Training & Education
Promoting data literacy within the organization by educating employees about proper data handling practices, the importance of data governance, and how to use data effectively in their roles
Champion the usage of approved metadata via training and knowledge-sharing sessions
Preparing reports and presenting these to business and management teams

The Royal Caribbean Group’s Data Governance team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Data Governance Domain Steward reporting to the Data Governance Lead.

This position will work on-site in Miramar & Miami, Florida.

Position Summary

The Senior Data Governance Domain Steward’s primary responsibilities include the oversight of RCG’s organization's data assets to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, consistent, and protected. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Data Governance
