About the Role
BOQ Group are seeking a Senior Analyst - Line 1 Risk professional to join our team as part of our transformation journey to building a stronger, more resilient bank.
The role of the Senior Analyst – Line 1 Risk, has the primary accountability of providing support to Management and the Risk team in the identification, assessment, mitigation, management and reporting across risks in Retail or Business Banking Divisions.
The Senior Analyst will perform activities relating to risk and control management; management and administration across incidents, issues and treatment plans; risk assessments and process analysis to provide risk support across projects, initiatives or change; stakeholder management; and perform ad hoc risk activities at the direction of management.
You will liaise with various stakeholders throughout BOQ Group and will be able to comfortably engage with stakeholders as part of small working groups and at times lead activities across remediation of incidents, issues and control development.
About you
Our successful candidate will ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field, and professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CPA are a plus. We are seeking candidates with strong experience Non-Financial Risk management in the financial services industry – preferably in banking.
You have a proven track record of supporting the development and implementation of risk management frameworks. Your background in financial services or a related industry, along with specific domain experience in either Retail or Business Banking risk management makes you well-suited for this role.
You have the ability to perform reviews of critical processes, determine root causes, identify control gaps and weaknesses, undertake risk in change assessments, and find simplification opportunities. Your analytical skills allow you to analyse trends, identify threats and opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend appropriate actions. Additionally, you bring strong organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills to the table.
Your understanding of risk management principles and practices is robust, and you excel in both analytical and problem-solving tasks. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are among your strengths, and you are adept at participating in projects and organizing tasks efficiently.
