Senior Analyst
We are recruiting Senior Analysts for a range of permanent and fixed-term roles (ranging from 6 to 24 months) within our policy teams in the Financial Stability Group.
In these roles you will contribute to high-impact analysis and policy work that supports the stability and resilience of New Zealand's financial system.
Te turanga - The role
In these roles, you will contribute to shaping and strengthening New Zealand's financial stability framework through high-quality analysis, research, and policy development. You will work on complex and impactful issues, supporting the Reserve Bank's understanding of risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities across the financial system.
This will include working across a range of policy, analytical, and research areas, enabling you to build on or develop skills in:
analysing financial system risks, including macro-financial trends and vulnerabilities;
developing and assessing policy and regulatory responses to support financial stability;
applying data, research, and economic frameworks to inform decision-making; and
contributing to the design and improvement of supervisory, regulatory, and macro-prudential tools.
You will leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to provide clear, evidence-based advice, support decision-making, and engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You are a curious and analytical thinker who enjoys working on complex problems and turning insights into clear, actionable advice. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to see the bigger picture across New Zealand's financial system.
You will also bring:
at least 4 years experience in policy, regulation, financial services, or a related field;
strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to work with data and evidence;
excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences;
the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships;
a collaborative mindset, with a willingness to support and mentor others; and
a proactive, resilient approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
An understanding of New Zealand's financial system, public policy environment, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is desirable.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $132,535 to $143,579 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
