Senior Application Developer

Position: Sr Developer Period: Permanent Hours: Monday - Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm Experience Skill: 8-10 years Role Description: We are looking for a hands on senior application developer to develop and support applications and processes in Middle and Back Office at State Street Global Advisors The ideal candidate should have strong experience in full software development lifecycle including application design, development, testing and support. The candidate should be able to co-ordinate with various cross functional teams globally and be able to work with business teams. Main Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, test and support applications Co-ordinate with various cross functional teams globally including businesses, developers, testers, enterprise architects and infrastructure teams Take ownership of small to medium tasks Identify and resolve application issues and bugs Work with the deployment team to install software in testing and production environments Perform application checkouts after infrastructure upgrades Should be a good team player Expertise Languages and Technologies Must be strong in Java and Java EE. Spring and other frameworks experience is preferred. Must be strong in Oracle PL/SQL. Any Redshift or PostgreSQL experience is a plus but not required. Unix Shell scripting knowledge is preferred. Should have good experience in Web applications development. Familiarity with Microservices and Rest API is a plus. Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular is a plus. Familiarity with Cloud Computing especially AWS experience is a plus. Experience with Continuous Development and Integration stack Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong interest in working on new technologies and tools. Person Specification Essential: . A minimum of Degree level qualification in a computer or IT related subject is required, plus relevant experience or training in many of the main duties specified in the Job Specification. . Demonstrable knowledge and expertise of, and exposure to, the majority of the primary development technologies listed in the Job Specification. Desirable: . Demonstrable knowledge of, or exposure to, the financial industry . Demonstrable knowledge of, or exposure to, any of the secondary development technologies listed in the Job Specification.
