Role Description
The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for design, demonstrate creativity, and exhibit excellent organizational and self-motivation skills. This individual will be instrumental in leading projects from the initial conceptual design phase through contract documentation, implementation, and close-out. The role demands clear communication skills to effectively manage projects with diverse clients and trades from inception to completion. As a Senior Architect and Interior Designer, you will lead and oversee the design and execution of architectural and interior design projects, ensuring high-quality, innovative solutions. This position requires advanced design skills, technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of architectural principles and interior design concepts. Responsibilities will include managing project teams, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Role Accountabilities:
• Develop and coordinate exceptionally detailed design concepts, providing leadership and an inspirational approach to meet project-design criteria and functional requirements.
• Oversee the interior design process and deliverables, establish project direction, and manage within project budgets and schedules, with input from the Project Lead.
• Manage multiple projects and lead a team of designers through all project phases.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors and various specialists, including mechanical, electrical, structural, lighting, and audio-visual teams, as well as clients.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the architectural design process and the ability to integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervision.
• Review preliminary space plans and design concepts to ensure compliance with code, accessibility, and functional requirements.
• Possess a strong understanding of contract administration.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Produce innovative design concepts that align with client and project needs while adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Exhibit strong project management skills.
• Make informed decisions and develop solutions for technical and design challenges.
• Conceptualize and articulate design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketching.
• Possess strong knowledge of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standards.
• Lead the preparation of design and construction documents to generate detailed design solutions.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants, leading project meetings and client presentations.
• Demonstrate understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standards.
• Delegate tasks effectively, and mentor/train intermediate and junior designers.
