Senior Associate - Construction

💰 $3,360 - $5,376 (Est.) 📍 Australian Capital Territory 🏠 Remote / WFH

Job Description

We are a modern Australian law firm with a leading reputation. We focus on exceptional service, operational excellence and being at the forefront of employee experience. We work closely with Australian and international businesses, organisations and governments.

About the role

We are currently looking for a full-time Associate or Senior Associate (4-8 year PQE) front-end construction and contracts Lawyer to join our Canberra real estate and construction team. Our construction team is well recognised across our three offices for its work for all levels of government, major construction companies and developers for practical and commercial advice. In Canberra, we have a strong government sector focus to our work, which sees us advising on construction projects in the ACT, across the country and internationally in the Pacific. In this role you will further progress your career whilst working with a supportive, close knit team. You will be afforded excellent training as you will have the opportunity to work closely with a partner and clients on interesting and high quality work. Many members of the team work across both the construction and real estate side of the practice. It is not an expectation that you be experienced in both but there would be opportunities to work across both areas if this is the work mix you are looking for in your next role.

About you

In order to be successful and thrive in this role, you will:

Currently be working as a front-end lawyer in a construction or projects team or have strong contracting experience that could be applied to the construction sector
Have a strong technical legal ability and a genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector
A client-focused approach with a deep understanding of commercial drivers
The ability to demonstrate exceptional drafting skills
An independent thinker, comfortable learning new concepts quickly
