About the Role

Our Debt and Capital Advisory (DCA) team within Deals is expanding and we’re looking for a Senior Associate in Sydney or Melbourne to join our vast community of solvers. The DCA team brings our purpose to life by using extensive experience and daily involvement in domestic and international debt and capital markets to provide clients with valuable advice on all aspects of their debt and capital needs. As independent advisors with access to the latest market trends, transaction intelligence, and broad market contacts, our team successfully delivers optimal capital structure platforms and outcomes tailored to clients' specific requirements.

As one of the most active independent debt advisors in Australia with a focus on complex transactions, common themes that usually result in a DCA engagement include:

Event driven – strategic acquisitions, growth / expansion capital expenditure, change in financial performance or debt refinancing

Board / senior executive willingness to "test the market"

Unhappy with existing bank or requirements for additional banks given increased volume

New CFO or Treasurer wanting a fresh perspective

Market disruption - loss of client(s); new entrants, declining market share, changing bank behaviour

Other financing considerations, including capital management strategies and tax/legislation changes.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

Delivering on a diverse range of financial advisory engagements, encompassing various debt and capital markets products and capital structuring advice

Building and maintaining relationships with clients, financiers, legal advisers and other associated advisors

Supporting the DCA team in the successful execution of transactions, including deal execution, credit analysis, financial modelling as well as the preparation of transaction related presentations and marketing materials

Focusing on your self-development through increasing your knowledge of debt products and markets from your high performing team and PwC learning and development opportunities.

In our DCA team, your impact will be seen by your:

Experience in corporate banking, leverage finance or debt advisory, with a proven track record in deal structuring and credit analysis, as well as in having an understanding of funding documentation

Skills in project management, financial analysis and modelling

Corporate finance knowledge to deliver innovative financing solutions for clients and working in an integrated team environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Interest in financial markets and the broader economy

Enjoy being challenged and will have the ability to learn from a passionate team.
