About the Company

Lander & Rogers is a leading independent law firm, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and global reach. Our focus is on innovating the client experience and leading change in legal service delivery. We are also committed to supporting our communities through our pro bono work.

About the Group

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to become part of our growing Banking team as we are shortly about to be joined by another market-leading Debt Finance Partner.

Our Banking team is recognised for its extensive expertise across the full range of corporate, leveraged and real estate finance matters. We advise on transactions from complex, high‑profile multi‑jurisdictional deals, including bilateral, club and large syndicated facilities to mid‑market domestic financings.

Acting for financiers, private equity sponsors, credit funds, real estate developers and commercial borrowers, our experience encompasses acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, project finance and general corporate lending. We work closely with clients to understand their commercial priorities and pride ourselves on delivering clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate with banking and finance experience. Alternatively, we are open to considering candidates with property law experience who would like to instead pursue their career in finance law.

You will work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and align legal strategies to deliver high-quality, efficient, and pragmatic legal solutions in corporate finance transactions.

About the Role

Work with senior lawyers and partners on a range of complex local and cross border financing transactions with a particular emphasis on real estate and acquisition financings. Clients will include international private equity, conglomerates and institutional investors in addition to the full range of Australian private equity, corporate and financier clients.
Providing legal advice & drafting transaction documents, including security documents, condition precedent documents and already drafting or keen to move on to, intercreditor arrangements and facility agreements. As you develop you will take on more responsibility running matters.
Working in partnership with senior practitioners and other team members, including cross-practice collaboration.
Working with graduate and more junior lawyers to successfully complete transactions.
Supervising and supporting junior lawyers, graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations.
Building client relationships at a corresponding level. Business development is a key focus for this team and while a track record of having done so is not necessary the successful candidate will be someone who is keen to participate in those efforts and develop the required skills.
Structured learning, feedback and career progression support will be provided in addition to hands-on mentoring from senior lawyers and partners. We are committed to supporting lawyers who want to build long‑term careers at Landers.

Highly organised and proficient in effective and timely management of transactions.
Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships.
