Job Description
Responsible to assist Country Finance Manager in financial and administrative aspects of MB- Bahrain business. To act as back up for Asst. Finance Manager.
Key Result Areas
• Ensure proper accounting of transactions and accuracy and timeliness in MIS preparation
• Responsible to support the branch Finance manager in day to day business
• Co-ordinate data requirements from various units to facilitate MIS preparation
• Perform Ratio calculations and assist in preparing local ALCO packs
• Update product-wise MIS reports & Cross sell reports
• Prepare Expense MIS and perform regular cost center and expense reviews and highlight inefficiencies and opportunities to finance manager for improvements
• Liaise with audit under supervision of Finance Manager
• Update monthly Double Count and FI working files
• VAT returns review and reconciliations and preparing and posting VAT entries once VAT liability gets settled at branch
• Preparing response on various CBB Ad hoc inquiries and compile survey forms
• Assist in performing regulatory returns review and preparing regulatory reconciliations.
• Perform RCSA reviews and implement effective internal controls.
• Mailing on time and ensuring mail records are maintained and filing of important documents
• Act as back up on Asst. Finance Manager to perform the various backup tasks.
Key Result Areas (Continued)
• Operate in an internal environment that is characterized by ongoing policy requirements, which requires familiarity with bank policies & procedures.
• Working relationship require good inter-personal skills and access to reporting systems to facilitate MIS preparation and in dealing with branch and HO staff as well as other personnel in business groups.
Working Relationships
• Interaction with teams within Finance universe.
• Interaction with support staff of Functional managers in Bahrain.
Head office staff teams on various types of MIS submissions for the country.
Key Result Areas (Continued)
• Highly analytical thinking and knowledgeable judgment to meet the complex nature of branch specific issues and system constraints at HO.
• Problem solving attitude to spot trouble shoot and kill the issues that surface at branch locations in terms of financial controls, accounting issues and reporting.
• Prelim knowledge of local banking laws and practices (CBB rule book), Government regulations and good command on International accounting standards (IFRS)
• Officiate on behalf of Assistant Finance Manager when on leave (singly or jointly as per delegation).
• Responsible for new offshore banking implementation jointly with Finance Manager (as and when planned)
Key Result Areas (Continued)
• Update risk registers annually or whenever a new risk has been identified
• Identify and assess risks and controls in their BU
• Report operational risk incidents on the ORM system
• Monitor the KRIs for their BU and inform BURM for any breaches; and
• Inform BURM of any new activity, product or process added into their area for which risks have not been identified yet, based on the new products, business, and system framework.
• Ensure correct regulatory reporting treatment and timely submission on regulatory returns
• Timely highlight all types of compliance risks to Country Finance Manager.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
• Fresh energetic Chartered Accountant or equivalent master’s degree in accounting / finance.
• 2 Plus Years of Accounting and reporting experience in finance from Banking industry or MNC Shared services finance background
• Good communication, accounting, and office management skills.
• Well organized and time bound individual.
• Have initiative to learn and basic computer skills.
• Middle east finance market will be added advantage, Sound Analytical skills
