Role Overview:
We are building a high-performance business intelligence (BI) application designed to ingest, process, and serve data from multiple systems in real time. Our platform delivers analytical dashboards and insights via a React-based frontend powered by a robust Node.js backend. To support this growth, we are seeking a Senior Backend Developer who can architect and scale backend services, optimize data queries, and ensure seamless API performance.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs in Node.js to serve large and dynamic data sets.
Integrate with Amazon Redshift and PostgreSQL to query, process, and aggregate analytical data.
Implement efficient Redis-based caching strategies to enhance performance and reduce latency.
Work closely with frontend (React) and data pipeline teams to support consistent, secure data delivery.
Build and optimize data access layers, handling pagination, filtering, and multi-tenant access controls.
Tune backend logic for large query volumes and high-throughput data workloads.
Set up proper monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend performance and error tracking.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and deployment planning.
Collaborate with AI and product teams to embed AI features in the platform (e.g., smart automation, suggestions, content generation, and predictive logic).
Help integrate with AI platforms and APIs such as OpenAI, Bedrock, or Vertex AI using Node.js SDKs.
Document each integration clearly for internal teams and customer-facing usage.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with 3+ years of hands-on Node.js experience .
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs in a production-grade environment.
• Experience working with Amazon Redshift and PostgreSQL , including advanced SQL and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Redis for caching, session management, or job queues.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization , and backend scaling techniques.
• Deep knowledge of API security , including token-based auth (e.g., JWT), access scopes, and rate limiting.
• Experience building data-driven applications , ideally BI, analytics, or dashboard platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and deployment on cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).
• Experience integrating AI models or platforms via APIs or SDKs, including OpenAI (ChatGPT/GPT-4) Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Azure OpenAI Service
• Custom AI endpoints built in Python or hosted via serverless or container services
Bonus Skills:
Experience with multi-tenant backend architecture .
Familiarity with GraphQL , API gateways, or message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS).
Exposure to building or maintaining ETL pipelines or real-time data streaming.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK stack .
Understanding of frontend-backend interaction for complex visualizations or data grids.
