Job Title: Senior Python Backend Lead Engineer

We are hiring for Ahmedabad based VC back funded FinTech start-up.
We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Lead Engineer to join our growing fintech team in Ahmedabad. This is a unique opportunity to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems, ensuring the technical vision and architecture align with business goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend technologies, particularly in Python with Django REST framework and FastAPI, and demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Vision and Leadership:
• Define and drive the technical architecture and vision for backend systems.
• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-availability, and secure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to backend engineering teams.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic decisions.
• Backend Development:
• Architect, design, and implement backend systems using Python, Django REST framework, and FastAPI.
• Write and review technical specifications, architecture documents, and diagrams.
• Implement best practices for system design and coding standards to ensure maintainable, reliable code.
• Hands-On Development:
• Actively contribute to the codebase, developing new features and fixing bugs.
• Perform code reviews, ensure code quality, and drive continuous improvement.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and excellence-driven culture within the engineering team.
• System Quality and Performance:
• Advocate for and implement best practices in testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop frameworks and tools to enhance productivity and security.
• Ensure systems are designed for performance, reliability, and security from day one.
Required Skills And Experience
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Backend Engineer in a product-based environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in Python, particularly with Django REST framework and FastAPI.
• Expertise in designing and building scalable, high-performance backend systems.
• Proficient in writing technical specifications and architecture documentation.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, with experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of Golang is a plus.
