Job Description
To be a ‘go to’ person, providing day to day support to our offices in Asia, in particular in relation to:
• Supporting the Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager (SBDMM) and Business Development & Marketing Coordinator (BDMC) on developing, reviewing and updating business planning and budgeting materials, participating in meetings, amending documents
• Supporting the SBDMM on driving the client targeting initiative and work with key campaign leads as a trusted advisor to drive and support their BD objectives
• Acting as the point person for BD budget tracking for the offices, working alongside our SBDM and BDMC to ensure that campaign groups are keeping to pre-agreed budgets. The SBDME will also be expected to analyse expenses to track BD activity against business objectives, identifying any areas for improvement
• Being a leading figure on the pitching process, from pre-pitch strategic discussion to document production and advice, including RFPs, credentials, statements of experience, client quotes/testimonials, basic research, partner and fee earner biographies and core factual/policy information. The SBDME will be expected to be support on pitch meetings and provide advice throughout the pitch process, and also be comfortable working, on occasion, to tight deadlines with limited guidance
• The SBDME, working with the SBDMM and BDMC, will be responsible for developing and maintaining the materials required to create pitch documents
• Managing Asia marketing collateral, supporting the SBDMM and BDA in creating brochures, team sheets and other client facing materials in English and local languages as needed, ensuring that they are aligned to Charles Russell Speechlys brand specifications
• Working with the relevant Knowledge Development Lawyers in generating legal content to support the client relationship, particularly in relation to client specific newsletter and significant changes to law
• Produce, distribute, analyse and report on digital newsletters, legal updates and other direct mailings, working with the CRM team and the BDMC

• Taking a lead role in the co-ordination and execution of the legal directories and award submissions process, working closely with the SBDMM and BDMC and liaising with the Asian office partners and teams, along with the research teams to ensure that submissions are in the correct format and delivered on time
• Coordinating sponsorship, event, or conference activity (project management of any branding, speaking opportunities, supporting presentation preparation, identification of client meetings, social media profiling of event, ROI reporting)
• Working with the SBDMM on client listening preparation and research. Work with finance on gap analysis and internal cross selling
• Supporting the SBDMM, working with fee earners and our PR team, on the coordination of PR activity for Asia
• Undertaking ad hoc research on markets, sectors, industries, organisations and individuals of relevance to the Division
• Being Involved and providing support on firm wide key project work (e.g. campaigns) and any other key BD deliverables for the senior management team (Director and Heads)
• Helping communicate and organise relevant training for Partners and other fee-earners in the various skills necessary to develop prospects and win new business
• Advising on best practice activities and methods
• Working with the regional legal secretaries to ensure best practice in relation to activity logging and referrals in InterAction and the New Business Intake (NBI) process
Qualifications and Experience
• IT savvy and computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Some knowledge of CRM systems (preferably InterAction)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – the role
• Involves liaison with internal and external people at a senior level and internationally
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), Asian language capabilities is a bonus but not essential.
