Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer located in the Kolkata metropolitan area. As a Sr. BI Developer, you'll work with the technical business development team, driving data management, automation, and insight generation. Your expertise will be crucial in empowering business decisions across market behaviour, seller performance, and logistics by ensuring data is efficiently gathered using modern data lake and BI tools. You'll design, develop, and maintain accurate, timely business intelligence solutions following best practices, seamlessly connecting business needs with end-to-end technical solutions.
Location: Kolkata (Onsite)
Need Immediate Joiner (15-20 days)
Relevant BI experience: 5-8 years (Should have BI experience within this range not below or above this)
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to understand priorities, manage demand, and gather requirements.
• Partner closely with Business Analysts and Data Engineers, advising on data availability, sources, and solutions.
• Ensure data is efficiently collected, stored, and prepared using tools like MS SQL, Databricks (+Python), Power Automate, and Power BI.
• Design, build, optimize, and manage critical reports and dashboards covering areas like Sales, Market share, Sellout & Stock, Investments, and Store & Online Intelligence.
• Apply best-in-class technologies and solutions for Dataset, Dataflow, and visualization optimization.
• Maintain structured communication with business and client stakeholders regarding changes, developments, and project statuses.
• Attend stakeholder meetings and development request clarification events as needed.
• Ensure all developed products adhere to company standards and undergo necessary QA processes.
• Actively contribute to data quality and governance initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field.
• Proven ability to develop efficient solutions, powerful data visualizations, and compelling storytelling using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, with a high level of technical competence.
• Exposure to Power Automate and Python, understanding their essential role in automation and accuracy.
• High-level proficiency in MS Excel, MS SQL, MS Power Automate, Power Platforms, MS Power BI (M, DAX)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, coupled with commercial acumen.
• Knowledgeon Databricks and Python (supporting performance, visualization, BI data structuring, governance).
• Experience with Tabular editor, DAX studio, and DAX optimizer is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to prioritize.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to influence and translate complex business requests into technical solutions.
