Responsible for providing Business Intelligence (BI) report and data engineering development, creation of datasets, marts and warehouses. This will also entail supporting and analysing large and complex business data in partnership with internal business teams. This role will lead on innovation and development whilst promoting and delivering best practice in the business intelligence field. This will also include the improvement of legacy systems whilst designing for the future by utilizing the latest tools, processes and disciplines in Business Intelligence. This position works under limited supervision and exercises decision making authority and you’ll need to adopt an all-encompassing approach to BI from the requirements gathering to the development, user acceptance testing, deployment to production and documentation, and platform maintenance and monitoring.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer Consultant to join our team that specializes in defining and resolving complex data collection and data integration issues.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting data collection, data integration, and ETL applications to make information and data available to key client stakeholders and technical interfaces.
As part of your role, you will work closely with Architects and will be responsible for understanding where the need for tight data controls arises to ensure seamless data flows around the organization and to minimize future change. You will also be responsible for modeling data requirements, data sources, and data flows to bring order and structure to programs of work.
We are looking for someone with a vast experience of working in multi-cloud technology. Experience of using/configuring DevOps and automated CD/CI, working with various API’s. A background in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and non-sql database experience in building and maintaining a data lake. Should have experience of working with Azure Adf, Synapse and Databricks.
As a Data Engineer Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that will make a real impact on the organization and be able to apply your knowledge and skills in ETL tools, data-related performance issues, data services, data security issues, and master data management patterns.
Responsible for documenting source-to-target mappings.
Responsible for re-engineering manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use.
Platform management with respect to monitoring, scheduling, incident management, and other tasks related to ensuring platform stability and performance.
Provide support, data and insights to the business to support project and BAU requirements globally.
Solution design/architecture inputs for both new and established environments and provide regular and ad-hoc data analysis to key business units across the business.
Provide ad-hoc and scheduled support for regional, and global initiatives/projects.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
To work UK time zones as agreed with manager and other potential times if needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor and/or Post Graduate qualifications in a related field
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
Must have at least 6+ years’ experience as Data Engineer role.
Experience with working with Delta lakes.
Experience of interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and communicating with a varied audience.
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, using CETAS querying serverless/dedicated sql pool.
Proven expertise on working with Azure ADF/Data Flow/Synapse/Data bricks and experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g. Python, Pyspark).
Experience of using Azure functions, logic apps, Azure Devops, build pipelines & configuring with GIT for CI/CD.
Proven expertise on working SharePoint and automate using Power Automate.
Strong business analysis skills with an ability to understand complex business process and ability to using a JIRA tool.
Strong understanding of relational database design and dimensional modelling.
Desirable:
Knowledge with data science and programing I.e., Python, R, Machine Learning.
Experience with agile methodologies, ITIL and Prince 2 are also highly regarded.
Experience or knowledge of agile methodologies – ITIL, Prince2 are also highly regarded.
Experience of using multiple ETL tools, Qlik sense, Talend etc.
Experience of training or leading technical colleagues.
Certification in Power BI / Data Engineering.
Education and qualifications
Essential:
Educated to Degree level in Computer Science or Engineering field or equivalent education/experience
Desirable:
Master’s degree or equivalent within a relevant field or equivalent education/experience
