Position Overview: AXIS is seeking a Senior Claims Expert to manage primary casualty claims for AXIS' U.S. Primary Casualty policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and manage complex claims to devise appropriate settlement strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Ensure timely assessment, reserving, and resolution of assigned claims.
• Mentor junior claims adjusters, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
• Utilize knowledge of legal frameworks and claims handling practices relevant to applicable jurisdictions, specifically in Construction and New York Labor Law.
• Document all aspects of the claims process, including coverage analysis, investigations, damages, reserve rationale, and negotiations.
• Review contracts for risk transfer evaluations and coverage analysis.
• Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate actions.
• Identify opportunities for subrogation and contribution related to claims.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrable expertise in evaluating and resolving complex claims across various jurisdictions.
• Experience in mentoring and developing junior adjusters.
• Proven track record with New York Labor Law, Product Liability, and complex litigation claims.
• Skilled in drafting comprehensive coverage correspondence and negotiating settlements with various stakeholders.
• Adept at recommending and justifying the use of external counsel in complex claims situations.
• Strong networking skills to build relationships within professional and market associations.
• Commitment to enforcing company policies and maintaining adherence in claims processing.
Role Requirements: This position includes in-office work three days a week and compliance with AXIS licensing requirements.
What We Offer: For this role, we expect to offer a competitive base salary range of $105,000 - $160,000, based on factors such as experience and location.
