About The Department
Bangalore Global Development since its inception, has transitioned from a small start-up to one of the largest units in Global Business Services, Bangalore (GBS) and a key contributor to Novo Nordisk clinical development portfolio. In Bangalore Global Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product introduction. The Centralised Monitoring Unit (CMU) was established in GBS in 2016 to support the Risk Based Monitoring of clinical trials conducted by Novo Nordisk in line with health authority requirements. The unit is the single and only entity across the globe responsible for performance of centralised medical monitoring for all clinical trials involving medical review of patient data that includes medical monitoring and lab surveillance and generation of visualisations and reports identifying outliers and trends from various data sources.
The Position
As a Senior Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and setting directions for Biostatistics according to Novo Nordisk Way including continuous improvement of business processes, striving for simplicity, and securing cross organizational collaboration and the delivery of business results. The responsibilities further include development of biostatistics and programming and provide inputs to organizational review. It’s a core people management role and would require someone who is good with team handling, mentoring and coaching further aiming to play crucial role in team expansion.
• Responsible for planning, executing and leading biostatistics, statistical and programming deliverable with respect to LCM activities in the Insulins team and devices.
• Contribute to the planning the global resources for the teams working on the project in HQ as well as in GBS.
• Conduct regular meetings in the team to share information and opinions, and to promote new business processes and/or management decisions.
• Responsible for timely identification of resource needs and gaps within team, the consequences, and their possible solutions to ensure optimal and flexible use of global resources.
• Ensuring timely deliverables at an appropriate level of quality in accordance with project milestones and the overall Novo Nordisk prioritisation
Experience
• More than 8 years of experience in related field along with Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in engineering, statistics or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 4-5 years in a team/line/people management role is a must.
• Extensive experience with communication and presentations.
• Extensive experience within drug-development.
• In-depth knowledge of the biostatistical area.
• Experience with supervision and mentoring of staff.
• Experience with the process of drug applications with the FDA and EMA.
• Experience in either project management is preferred.
• Ability to cross collaborate and work with the teams and stakeholders from different backgrounds and culture in a Hybrid setup.
