The Communications team is responsible for internal and external communications relating to the Guardians and its mandates, both in New Zealand and internationally. The team provides best practice guidance and implementation support on communications, government/stakeholder relations and public affairs matters.

Role focus: This role will work alongside two other Senior Communications Advisors to deliver selected key tasks as outlined below, with focus areas to be agreed with the Head of Communications. We are seeking an experienced and high performing senior professional, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrable expertise in digital communications and the ability to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines. An understanding of the investment sector, sustainable finance and current affairs is desirable.

About The Position

Provide internal and external communications advice and support to the Guardians, developing and implementing communications strategies, plans and events.
Manage corporate publications including the Annual Report and associated documents and disclosures.
Manage digital channels including intranet, websites, social media and video content.
Coordinate and support the external speaking and presentation programme.
Draft and project manage responses to Official Information Act requests. Monitor and report on the release of information.
Manage the sponsorship portfolio.
Draft and produce internal and external corporate and investment content.
Support Government Relations and Parliamentary Scrutiny activities including reporting to the Minister of Finance and Select Committees.
Manage team resources and information, including brand resources and digital content.
Manage external suppliers as required.
Continuously improve the communications function by identifying best practice, suggesting improvements and capturing institutional knowledge.
Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the team, helping them navigate their assigned responsibilities effectively.


About You

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to grasp complex investment and numerical concepts, and articulate them in an accurate, engaging and easy-to-understand way.
Experience and expertise in digital communications including user experience-focused design and content creation and management.
Results-focused with excellent project management, priority setting and time management skills.
Able to gain the trust and confidence of internal clients and external partners.
Relevant academic qualifications and professional experience.
