Your Roles and Responsibilities
ON PURPOSE is looking for a Senior Content Writer who will be responsible for conceptualising, writing and reviewing the production of content collateral for account teams. Their primary role will be to understand client messaging priorities within industry narratives. They will be working primarily with print media, but will need to be adept at adapting to web and digital media if required. They will be expected to execute briefs and collaborate with business leads to deliver outstanding messaging for clients.
The candidate should be able to lead client engagements for content and narrative briefs, and help manage content strategy for both small-scale and large-scale projects. They will need to conduct research to fully comprehend the client’s industry and be able to write insightful content on relevant topics in their field with minimal supervision and client input.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling content deliverables including, but not limited to, authored articles, blogs, white papers, newsletters and reports
• Engage with clients to understand content briefs and messaging objectives
• Earn client confidence by authentically capturing their voice with appropriate content and tonality
• Identify key client talking points, monitor industry narratives for each client and suggest narratives/topics to be included in messaging
• Work with a cross-functional team of account executives, designers, photographers/videographers, and project managers in the strategic development of messages and deliverables
• Ensure a consistently high quality of content with minimal grammatical, technical and stylistic difficulties
What You’ll Need (must haves for the role)
• 5 to 7 years’ relevant work experience in writing. Preference will be given to candidates that have agency experience and/or have written technology related content
• Strong linguistic skills with the ability to construct grammatically correct sentences into easy to understand narratives.
• The ability to take customer briefs, identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content, and recommend new topics
• A thorough understanding of the media landscape to anticipate what narratives are likely to be placed by account executives easily, preferably informed by professional experience
What Would Be Nice to Have
• Educational qualifications (ideally at a Master’s level that demonstrate relevant proficiencies such as in Literature/ Communications/Public Policy/etc.
• Experience managing large account portfolios
• Proven experience with concept development
