We are looking for a Vice President, Senior Corporate Counsel who will collaborate closely with internal firm services colleagues from Legal and People Function, advising on compliance with various provisions of Employment laws applicable to Kroll India group companies. The role requires the candidate possess a high degree of responsibility, energy, intelligence, and maturity. You will perform assigned tasks with accountability, independence, judgment, and meticulousness. This role will be reporting Legal and work closely with People Function and compliance vendors in India.

Responsibilities
• Responsible to ensure compliance with all applicable Labour laws, rules and regulations to Kroll India entities and other APAC jurisdictions.
• Play a role of Authorized signatory and representative of Kroll for Labour Law related compliances to all regulators.
• Interpret and provide advice on employment laws on Employee Relations matters.
• Work on reviewing and drafting commercial contracts related to People Function, legal letters, notices, replies to labor law authorities
• Work with Legal Team & external counsel on employment litigations in APAC region
• Proactively monitor employment laws and provide and advise of developments that may affect the company.
• Work with all internal departments like Human Capital, Facilities, Finance, India operations and other departments to educate on their roles towards Labour laws and get the updates on their responsibilities towards relevant activities required to ensure compliances.
• Work with Human Capital Business Partners & vendors to deliver Labour law compliance Agenda
• Develop and implement an effective Labour Law compliance program with Human Capital Business Partners.
• Creating compliance calendar and ensuring adherence to compliance calendar for all labour law compliances in India.
• Liaising with the Labour law compliance vendor and regulators / department on any notice/ correspondence with authorities
• Getting periodic compliance health check performed in order to ensure compliance.
• Responsible ensure to maintenance of all labour law records for all companies
• Ensure documentation of standard operating procedures and assigning of responsibility for all the processes required to ensure compliances. Review of various amendments and keep abreast on labour laws and enable the change impact within Kroll.
• Assess and ensure internal controls are in place and monitor adherence to them
• Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses
• Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed
• Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
• Setup process to take in queries and compliance requests from business unit.
• Other compliance related tasks as and when required to maintain compliance with the local laws.

Requirements
• Qualified Lawyer with at least 6-7 years of experience working on Indian labour law and compliances
• LLM or Master of Labor Laws would be added advantage
• Expertise in APAC Labor Laws will be desirable
• Must be capable of operating in tandem with colleagues in a highly collaborative fashion and execute assigned tasks with precision, thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

• Strong PC Skills, Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information
