Job Overview
The Legal Associate will serve as the primary point of contact for our in-house legal Department based primarily in Pune, India.
The Legal Associate will be responsible for the smooth running of the legal Department and advising the India-based business leaders. The Legal Associate will liaise with the leadership team and report to the PharmaACE Director in India.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and practical business insight to PharmaACE business in India on topics including corporate matters, employment law issues, contracting, leases, and other commercial negotiations.
• Evaluate legal risks and advise on strategic business initiatives.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on team development and projects.
• Assess and mitigate risk for the corporation regarding compliance with Indian laws.
• Oversee all legal compliance matters required under applicable laws for PharmaACE India operations.
• Act as a source of advice and counsel to the PharmaACE leadership team in India.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
• Law Degree (LLB) from a top-tier university with a strong academic record; and certification in Corporate secretarial or post-graduation in labour law is preferable.
• 5+ years of relevant experience working for a multinational company along with supporting a global business is preferable.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance activities and filings required under various state and central laws of India.
• Holding deep expertise in the employment laws of India is an added advantage.
