As a senior data engineer working in accounting and regulatory teams, you will need to be able to learn new and complex concepts quickly, as well as be relentlessly resourceful and scrappy in your approach. You will be responsible for providing data to critical audits requests and legal teams on demand, which will require a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. In addition, you will need to have a solid understanding of accounting and regulatory requirements and be able to design and implement data pipelines that comply with these standards. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial data used in the organization's decision-making processes.
Your day to day
Develop and optimizing RTL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Developing and maintaining data models, schemas, and structures that support business needs and enable efficient data analysis.
Collaborating with cross functional teams, including data engineers. data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to identify data requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
Monitoring data quality and ensuring data security and regulatory/compliance.
Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and recommending innovative solutions to improve data efficiency and quality,
What do you need to bring
Build scalable systems on Hadoop and Google Cloud Platform Ecosystems, lead technical discussions, participate in code reviews, guide the team in engineering best practices. Must be able to write quality code and build secure, highly available systems. 85% of the job requires production quality coding.
Provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support across multiple platforms (Unix, Python, GCP, Hadoop, SAP HANA, Bank Analyzer(sAFI/FPSL), Teradata, S/4 HANA, FI/CO).
Must have worked in Cloud environments and are familiar with object stores, and other common cloud-native data storage and processing frameworks
Must have deep expertise in modern data engineering approaches, stay on top of developments, and are aware of what leading players are doing
Experience in building high-performance data pipelines at scale
Highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility, ownership and strong, positive customer focus. Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive the defined team and organizational goals
Establish a consistent, project management framework and development processes to deliver high quality software, in rapid iterations, for business partners in multiple geographies.
Design, develop, troubleshoots and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
