Position Summary:
The Senior Oracle DBA is responsible for working within a technical team of professionals providing IT services to remotely-located clients.
Responsibilities
• Monitoring and assessing client system behaviour and status, identifying, planning and implementing improvements
• Ensure the availability and performance of databases supported by the team
• Ensure services are secure with minimal downtime
• Provide proactive monitoring of database system
• Provide customer health checks as required
• Take on New Technologies as the Company requires
• Be a Techical Escalation point for more Junior members of the team .
• Drive Automation and application of Standards to reduce the volume of incidents
Requirements
Experience:
Essential:
• 8-10 years plus experience in Enterprise level Oracle Database Administration
• Proven track record providing production support including monitoring and tuning
• Experience in supporting, installing, upgrading and patching of all Oracle Versions to 1+c
• Excellent interpersonal skills (team player, communication, well-organized, etc.)
• Expertise in interfacing with Customer on regular basis
• Experience in documenting, maintaining, and improving standard operating procedures
• Able to manage multiple RDBMS across versions and platforms
• Expertise in performing database refreshes across various Oracle versions
• Experience using multiple backup management systems (Networker, Veeam, etc.)
• Oracle certification (OCA)
• Experience Administrating Oracle RAC, Oracle CRS
• Experience with Oracle Dataguard
• Experience in Oracle Performance Tuning
• Experience of installing and troubleshooting Oracle Goldengate
• Experience of installing and troubleshooting Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13c)
• Project Management skills (conducting meetings, requirement gathering, preparing plans, etc.)
Desirable:
• Experience of installing and supporting OCI/AWS Cloud Solutions
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Experience of Oracle Exadata / ODA
• Experience of Oracle Apps (eBusiness Suite)
• Knowledge of other Database systems such as SQLServer/MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems to a level below a dedicated Systems Administrator
