Responsibilities:
• Subject Matter Expert and skilled administrator for database systems.
• Planning, designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and auditing end-to-end database solutions.
• Participation in engineering discussions, working with internal and external teams to understand solution requirements.
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies to provide recommendations on those that best fit the organization and environment.
• Create, document, and socialize network best standards and practices.
• Collaborate with internal security teams to define minimum security standards, then socialize and deploy according to those standards.
• Creation of high-level and low-level designs, including socialization and knowledge transfer of those designs to internal teams.
• Implement solutions according to requirements and perform post-implementation functional testing.
• Create change requests and coordinate with business partners to schedule, implement, and perform post-change testing.
• Partner with Infrastructure Operations to assist with incident response.
Requirements:
• 8 years of experience designing, implementing and supporting complex database solutions.
• Expert-level knowledge of and experience with relational databases, including Oracle, Oracle Exadata, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and IBM Informix.
• Extensive experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with EDW tools and technologies.
• Experience with database security, including security scans, impact analysis, user account management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Solid experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems.
• Experience collecting business requirements from customers and translating those requirements into DB data processes and schema.
• Familiarity with infrastructure facilities, including cabling standards, patching, floor plans, and power.
• Ability to develop and understand SOWs, BoMs, run books, platform summaries, technology standards, and architecture diagrams.
• Capable of developing budgets, tracking costs, providing forecasts, and performing financial analysis on projects.
• General understanding of infrastructure systems and their interdependencies.
• Experience with automation is a huge plus.
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and lead projects with minimal supervision.
• Ability to build consensus, collaborate, and build strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (vendors, business, operations, etc. ).
• Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical and non-technical designs, issues and constraints, and procedures and assessments
