Job Description
As a Senior Database Developer, you would work independently under limited supervision and apply knowledge of the subject matter in Application’s Database Design, Development and Maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of an enterprise data architecture that effectively supports Business Intelligence capabilities. You must have extensive knowledge of database architectures.
• SQL, relational databases, and data modelling.
• Run profiling tools to identify slow or resource-intensive SQLs and provide solutions.
• Develop conceptual, logical & physical data model designs with appropriate structure and relationships for optimal performance
• Performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies
• Designing and implementing new features in a highly scalable and maintainable manner
• Document and assist in defining data modelling requirements, creating documents to ensure the applications database design meets their expectations in accordance with the technical and functional specifications.
• Ensure that significant database design decisions are communicated, validated, and adhered to.
• Ensure the long-term reliability, scalability and maintainability of systems.
Qualifications:
• Seeking a self-motivated, technical, results-oriented, and quality-focused individual with strong data warehouse and architecture skills
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 + years of IT experience as SQL server Database developer or DBA.
• Strong knowledge of SQL. Experience in writing complex queries in SQL.
• Hands-on SQL-XML programming skills
• Experience with SQL Server (Microsoft).
• Experience with running Data Profiling Tools and solving performance and other resource consumptions (CPU/memory/I/O etc.) concerns.
• Expert in performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies
• Experience with programming language skills in Java
• Extensive experience gathering requirements, designing, and developing data
• Extensive Experience in Data Modelling, Database design and well versed with SQL Server best practices
• Knowledge of Pentaho or other ETL tools is a plus.
• Should be able to work on development tasks independently following the process & standards.
