Role Description
As a Senior Database Developer you will design, develop, test, and implement effective and secure database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data to a high quality standard. You must be able to maintain existing systems whilst developing new solutions in line with the business requirements. You should be self-sufficient and be able to guide more junior developers at a technical level. You will work as part of a collaborative Agile development team, which will include Product Owners, a Scrum Master, Developers and UX/UX Design staff on the frontend, database and back-end elements of the +ine App which is used by customers all over the world. You must have a can-do attitude and be willing to grow and adapt as the business grows its software service offering.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Collaboratively working within a team to develop solutions aligned with the business needs.
Taking business requirements and turning them into technical solutions.
Mentoring and training team members and ensuring they develop to quality standards.
Developing, implementing and maintaining solutions that are both reliable and scalable.
Recommending improvements to new and existing systems.
Ensuring compliance to code implementation procedures.
Documenting technical solutions in line with agreed quality standards.
Maintaining application performance.
Troubleshooting issues and carrying out root cause analysis.
Performing code and design reviews as per the code review process.
Optimising the integration and installation of new releases.
Migrating data from legacy systems to new solutions.
Providing regular updates.
Skills and Experience
6+ years of experience in database management and development.
Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
Strong knowledge of data structures and database systems.
In depth expertise and hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Database Management System.
In depth expertise and hands on experience in database design, data maintenance, database security, data analysis and mining.
Hands-on experience with at least one web-hosting platform such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure, etc.
Strong understanding of security principles and how they apply to web applications.
Basic knowledge of networking.
Desirable knowledge of business intelligence (MSBI).
Desirable knowledge of data architectures related to data warehouse implementations.
Experience of working in Agile delivery model using Jira as the work management tool.
Fluency in both written and verbal English.
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
Understanding of Agile methodologies.
Excellent analytical skills.
Strong organisational skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
