Summary:

Civil - Designer with more than 15 years of experience in Engineering Design office of repute. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools. Should have experience of preparing, checking and leading structural work using software like SP3D.

Essential Job Duties:

· Shall ensure compliance with Bechtel's standard procedures and project requirements.

· Shall assign work and provide technical direction to subordinate designers and check the deliverables.

· Co-ordination with Bechtel Home Office (CSA team) for any interface queries and its timely resolution

· Assists in the development of basic layout drawings for civil works or other purposes to be used in working drawings

· Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, or constructability.

· Understanding of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant design guides. Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and

materials and Codes including of OSHA

· Co-ordination with Bechtel Home Office (CSA team) for any interface queries and its timely resolution

· Assists in the development of basic layout drawings for civil/structural data or other purposes to be used in working drawings

· Prepare material take-offs and preparation of material lists.

· Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods

Job Knowledge:

· Proficient in use of SP3D to prepare design and construction drawings. Draw clear, complete, and accurate detail drawings based on design inputs, sketches, field notes, and verbal communication

· Experience of preparing general arrangement and reinforcement detail drawings of concrete

· Experience of preparing general arrangement and detail drawings of steel

· The designer must interpret and implement technical direction received from engineers, technologists or other supervisors and work independently to develop clear and concise drawings that will be

checked by an engineer prior to being completed and issued.

· Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, or constructability.

· Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods

· Experience in leading a team of designers in EPC and/or big FEED projects.

· Capable of planning, assigning, guiding and monitoring work of the team members

· Capable of assuring quality of the drawings and other associated deliverables

· Prepare material take-offs and preparation of material lists.

· Knowledgeable and capable of working in excel, word and other material take-off software.

Qualification (Candidates must meet all basic qualifications to be considered)

· Diploma in Civil Engineering or Drafting and Design Technology certificate from ITI/CTI.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements

· Knowledge in other software like Microstation, AutoCAD, Tekla, Frameworks

· Willingness to accept field assignment on projects anywhere in the world.

· Prior experience of working on Energy projects, such as LNGs, Refineries etc.

Experience:

Grade 25: 15+ years of relevant work experience
