Job Title: Senior Designer & Merchandiser Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan Company: KBK Exports – Garment Exporter Experience: 7–12 years (Export house experience mandatory) Job Summary KBK Exports is looking for a highly skilled Senior Designer & Merchandiser who can seamlessly manage design development, sampling, buyer coordination, and merchandising execution. The ideal candidate should have strong aesthetic sensibility, in-depth fabric and surface knowledge, and hands-on experience working with international buyers from concept to shipment. Key Responsibilities Design & Product Development Conceptualize and develop seasonal collections as per buyer briefs, trends, and market requirements Create mood boards, color stories, fabric boards, embroidery and print concepts. Develop detailed tech packs including measurements, construction, trims, and finishing details Work closely with sampling, pattern, embroidery, and production teams to ensure design accuracy Ensure commercial viability while maintaining design innovation Merchandising & Buyer Coordination Act as the primary point of contact for buyers for design, sampling, costing, and order follow-ups Handle buyer meetings, presentations, and design discussions (virtual & in-person) Prepare and manage cost sheets, ensuring target pricing and margins Track sampling timelines, approvals, and revisions Ensure timely order confirmations and smooth execution from order to dispatch Production & Execution Coordinate with sourcing, production, quality, and logistics teams for order execution Monitor production status and proactively resolve design or quality-related issues Ensure adherence to buyer quality standards, fit approvals, and shipment timelines Trend & Market Research Research global fashion trends, color forecasts, fabrics, silhouettes, and embellishments Translate trends into buyer-relevant, export-appropriate collections Keep updated with international market demands, sustainability norms, and compliance Team & Process Management Guide junior designers and merchandisers Maintain organized records of designs, samples, and buyer communication Improve workflow efficiency between design and merchandising departments Required Skills & Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or equivalent Strong understanding of woven garments, embroidery techniques, printing, and surface development Excellent knowledge of fabrics, yarns, dyes, and garment construction Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Excel Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to multitask, manage timelines, and work under pressure Experience with international buyers (USA, Europe, Middle East, etc.) preferred Preferred Candidate Profile Experience in ethnic, contemporary, or fusion wear exports Strong aesthetic sense with commercial understanding Detail-oriented with problem-solving mindset Willingness to travel for buyer meetings and sourcing if required What We Offer Opportunity to work with global buyers Creative freedom with commercial exposure Growth-oriented role in a dynamic export workplace
