Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer or Developer Advocate to join our Developer Relations team to help us create and grow the Hasura developer community.
As a Developer Advocate, you’ll engage with developers and provide them with authentic and exciting resources such as open-source demos, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and blog posts.
This role is for you if you take great pride in understanding new technology trends and explaining them to your peers. You are proactive in identifying trends in the community that impact product adoption, and energetic in your approach to suggest and experiment with activities that will move the needle.
What the role will involve:
• Develop and maintain resources for developers, such as open-source demos and software tools, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and tutorials.
• Engage external communities like Stack Overflow, GitHub, Slack, Reddit, and Discord to identify new resources that should be created and own the delivery of those pieces.
• Take part in the developer data API ecosystem and community, building strong relationships with engineers, architects, product managers, and founders.
• Define and own metrics to measure the success of our developer content and outreach efforts and initiatives.
• Speak at conferences, contribute to events, and engage in communities like Stack Overflow and GitHub.
• Communicate developer requirements and provide input to product management on feature enhancements and future product direction.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in computer engineering, coding, developer education, and technical writing
• Knowledge of transactional data platforms like PostgreSQL, SQL server, MySQL and developer tools like SDKs and APIs
• Experience in writing code sample projects, demos, or tutorials for two or more of these languages: JavaScript, Golang, Java, Python
• Experience working within cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, product engineering, support, and customer success)
• A mindset that done is better than perfect.
