Job Requirements:
DB System Administration
Responsible for performing all functions required to support day-to-day database operations
Provide 24x7 support for production systems
Perform database troubleshooting, re-organizations, re-indexing, copying, creating, tune databases, tables and queries as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database
Provide strategic database direction
Support Microsoft Visio/Project
Availability in response to the needs of our customers for installation, maintenance and malfunctions
Determine and analyse requirements, perform design review, remediation and
recommendations
Participate in change control activities and project initiatives
Provide essential and adequate controls to secure and safeguard the integrity of the data being processed
Protect data and networks from unauthorized access, alteration, and misuse
Report any violations of the policy to management
Ensure Systems Availability
Perform day-to-day support tasks such as working with the business and applications team
Design, develop, create, and modify databases, schematics and tables
Monitor systems to ensure stability and take proactive actions to ensure the performance and availability of SLAs
Implement self-diagnostics and remediation solutions
Prepare systems availability reports and document reasons for exceptions and corrective action to rectify problems
Provide root cause analysis (RCA) as needed
Prepare performance and capacity trend charts to allow for proper upgrade planning with adequate time allowance to ensure enough systems resources are available when needed
Support disaster recovery effort that adequately meets the business needs and avoids extended system outages should an event occurs.
Support of IT and Business Application projects
Responsible for estimating time to complete project task(s) in support of IT, Business and End User projects
Responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of data and application components
Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors etc. to provide technical assistance and support
Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with IT applications, management, and users on projects and raise any issues and delays to IT management
Promote and work in a team environment
Support the implementation of new technologies and tools that provide an efficient and cost-effective infrastructure environment in support of our customer business objectives
Keep informed of new technologies using in-house web training and vendor-offered training classes and seminars
Provide technical leadership, analysis, expertise, guidance, and act as a consultant to Infrastructure and IT Business application groups.
