This is a Wellington based hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly. Anchor days in the office are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to) and they told us the following about the role:
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Lead Development Efforts: Design and build robust, scalable solutions, often working on complex or high-impact components.
Shape Technical Direction: Influence architectural decisions, patterns, and long-term technical strategies.
Mentor and Support: Coach junior and intermediate developers, providing guidance through code reviews, pair programming, and feedback.
Drive Operational Excellence: Champion practices that improve reliability, performance, and deployment efficiency.
Provide Product Support: Lead by example in participating in the product support and on-call roster, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and root causes are addressed.
Maintain Technical Documentation: Ensure system-level and architectural documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Foster Innovation: Identify opportunities for technical or process improvement and help lead their implementation.
What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
Term Deposit Value stream.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
As a Senior Developer, you’ll lead in the design and delivery of scalable solutions, influence technical direction and support other Developers to grow and succeed. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and reliable through hands-on support and incident management.
What technical skills are REQUIRED for this role?
Strong Java/J2EE, spring-boot, JPA, OpenApi, Devops and EDA.
AWS is a very nice to have!
Why did the last person leave this role?
This is a new Team being setup, so hiring the whole team.
