Job Description: Senior Development Editor for K to 12
Note: Work from office opportunity, Bangalore (relocation paid for on case to case basis)
Pre-requisites:
- Must be a postgraduate in Linguistics (English), Mathematics or Science
- Ability to work with educational content in English, Math's or Science (STEAM) up to Grade 12
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in K-12 academic publishing or content development
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in Editing academic content for K-12/school segment - copy editing, proofing and validating content
- Experience with CCSS, Cambridge IGCSE and NGSS preferred
- Teaching experience in STEM subjects is an advantage

- Ability to edit independently for a target audience with minimal supervision
The Role and Responsibility:
- Develop quality print and digital products by content, linguistic and copy editing to ensure content appeals to K-12 learners and educators
- Perform developmental editing on educational content to meet the requirements of the target audience, by aligning with the curriculum framework and ensuring readability at the appropriate level
- Develop materials in collaboration with the author to ensure optimal quality and accuracy of publications
- Engage with the book production process from the manuscript stage to the final publication, while liaising with authors, designers, illustrators, etc.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials by monitoring schedules and adhering to tight deadlines
- Prepare artwork briefs, carry out photo-sourcing, and obtain permission for the use of copyrighted materials
- Review and proofread materials at different stages
- Carry out market research on the competition for creative ideas and trends
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure that books are relevant to the target audience
- Ensure that planned expenses (photographs, artwork etc.) fall within the set budget and suggest alternatives where necessary

Salary: ₹1,100,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
