Auckland Council’s Auckland Emergency Management (AEM) team is looking for a Senior Advisor Digital Content to lead and elevate our digital content presence across online, social, and internal channels on a fixed term contract for 12 months.


This is a critical role designed to build trust, strengthen public information, awareness and engagement, and improve the performance of AEM’s digital channels. You will shape strategic digital approaches, support public education initiatives, and contribute to improving our region’s emergency readiness and resilience.


You could expect to work on:


Collaboratively shaping the development and delivery of AEM’s digital strategy.
Managing and optimising content for AEM’s website and social media channels.
Providing critical information via online channels during fast-paced emergency responses.
Delivering digital public awareness campaigns in collaboration with Council and NEMA across multiple channels.
Producing high‑quality digital content including intranet stories, e-newsletters, video and media materials.
Monitoring digital content performance to enhance engagement and user experience.

This role requires depth of experience in digital content, strategy, and multi‑channel communications. You’ll bring expertise from working in large, complex environments and know how to integrate digital channels into organisation‑wide initiatives.


We are looking for experience in:


Implementing digital strategy and producing digital content which meets accessibility and standards guidelines.
Managing online platforms, social media channels, and content management systems.
Developing multi‑channel public awareness or education campaigns.
Optimising digital content performance including SEO, images, video, online forms and documents.
Writing and editing for online environments, including diverse audiences.
