Job Description
You are an influential member of the platform team that delivers great customer experiences to our key customer facing channels. We deliver digital self- service capabilities that enable our customers to bank how they want and when they want. We make our customers lives easier by delivering new features and removing friction
Assess, investigate and implement fixes to support issues, maintenance and on-going performance monitoring
Suggest and help implement CI in order to build a high performing team
Develop, review and test configuration of application releases, product changes, and critical patches
Research and debug technical processes using sources such as error logs and product technical documentation to help identify solutions to resolve problems or improve efficiency
Develop automated and manual testing of solutions for new initiatives and issues
Provide specialist knowledge to document the applications, internal support processes, risks, issues and actions.
Write detailed solution design specifications and option papers for new initiatives
Adhere to version control standards and management of various projects and software
Demonstrate and uphold coding best practices through collaboration, reviews and tooling
Active participation in all Delivery Team Agile Ceremonies
Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
Support with development team standards, practices, tools and processes
Support team members to achieve their goals and team goals
Do things differently with us
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT with a background in Applications Development and Support.
High level of enthusiasm and drive to deliver change in a dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills
Balanced business and technical focus with an eye for continual systems/process improvements
Strong technical knowledge across Javascript, HTTP Protocols, GIT, software architectures and the Android and iOS platforms. Java and Swift/Objective-C are a bonus but not essential.
Strong understanding of how Frontend and Backend systems interact with each other with a focus on security and best practices.
Experience building RESTful web services or working with API gateways
Ability to work after hours for application deployments and as part of an on-call roster
Experience in supporting a platform hosted on infrastructure running in the cloud
Experience with automation pipelines such as Jenkins
